Looking into painting some tanks. I’m planning on purchasing this harbor freight gun and I’m wondering if a 21 gallon tank would do the job? I understand a larger tank would be best for continuous use but since I’m only doing tanks can anyone tell me if a 21gal like this one would be fine? Thank you.

The one I got same gun same tank does just fine
It’s all about the SCFM. A compressor specifically for HVLP paint guns and automotive applications will be like 18 SCFM. But, as you mentioned, if you are only painting tanks and fenders, then you can give your compressor time to recover between coats. Just make sure to also use some sort of in-line desiccant.
