Help!!! I don’t really know about cars. I daily drive a old Subaru outback and I the exhaust rusted out. Its so loud it unbearable and super embarrassing. So I had a guy look at it and he wrote down that it’s rusted at the flange ? And I need a new catalytic converter? They are super expensive by themselves on a quick Google search. Plus I had getting it installed. He said he was willing to pay me 250 for the old catalytic converter and I know they go for like way more then that. My inspection is expired and he said he can’t pass my car. I just don’t want to get taken advantage of.
