Hello everyone. I’ve been at this issue all day trying to find a solution and have been led astray all day by google. I’m trying to listen to my console audio onto my PC headphones so that I can use discord and such with friends while I’m playing a console game.

Specs: ASRock X570 PHANTOM GAMING 4 AM4 AMD X570 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard, R7 3700x, Corsair Vengeance 2x 8gb sticks, EVGA 2080 Super Black, Elgato HD60 Pro, (Headphones) Audiotechnica ATH-M50x, (Monitor) ASUS VG248QE

I have tried absolutely everything. I currently have my console hooked up to an HDMI splitter that’s hooked into my capture card, then obviously the capture card leads to my main monitor so I’m able to easily play via HDMI. My primary headphones are a 3.5mm plug, that I have plugged directly into the motherboard on the back of my PC. They’re considered speakers in my device manager, and I’ve seen numerous YouTube videos claiming you can just plug a 3.5mm into your monitor and plug the other end into your PC, but that just ended up doing nothing for me and the two devices are considered the same. Even upon uninstalling the Realtek Drivers to get the Windows ones upon reboot and them becoming separated inputs, no audio comes through the “Headphones” (My monitor) to my headset.

I’ve tried experimenting with the Realtek Audio Console and was only met with disappointment. It’s very barebones and has very few options compared to the different posts I’ve seen on various websites and reddit threads, seemingly due to my motherboard brand ASRock. Photos attached.

All this has me drawing a blank. I’m considering getting an audio splitter, but I’ve read two different output devices can potentially cause damage to one device or the other, however I may be misunderstanding. It seems that it may just be easier if I have a USB headset? I can get a USB adapter if need be if that’ll fix things, I’m just at a complete loss and think someone more knowledgeable could definitely assist. Thank you for your time and your help!
