    There is absolutely no reason for European nations to be playing any friendlies in the year 2023.

    I don’t care if it’s some exhibition match, tradition, or the ‘super copa Finalissima cup shield final’, there’s just no reason for it when teams already have nations league and tournament qualifiers.

    For non-European nations, especially those consisting of players whose clubs aren’t playing every 3 days, friendlies are fine. But even then they should only be occasional when there really is a huge gap in the calendar.

    Rice has been unreal on the ball so far. That penalty is all because of him passing risky between the lines.

    Could have done better when intercepting the ball on the goal Italy scored but so many mistakes happened after that by England before the goal went into the net.
