For me it’s Tom Brady.
I spent so many years hating that fucking guy. Even though we always did okay against him, he was just always winning. And I couldn’t stand him.
Then I watched him absolutely, single handedly will his entire team to a win in an AFC championship game. He looked like dexter preparing for a kill. There was no way he was not winning that game.
And it hit me, I’m done hating this guy. I’m going to just start appreciating the fact that I’ve gotten to watch the single greatest football career ever put together. Dude went to the Super Bowl 10 times in 21 years. And won SEVEN of them. 5 of them as MVP. And I got to see the entire thing. I was watching the game where Bledsoe got hurt and Tom Brady came in.
I don’t think any of us will ever see a winner like that ever again.
Marshawn Lynch. That dude earned every last bit of his “beast mode” nickname and always kept it real.
Back in 2011 I was living near Seattle and picked up some cheap $45 tickets to watch the 7-9 Seahawks host the Saints in the Wildcard round. Not a Seattle fan, but I was excited to watch some playoff football. During that game Lynch pulled off his infamous Beast Quake. That will forever go down as one of the most memorable sport moments for me.
