Hi I am a software engineer and in upcoming years I want to launch a couple of e-commerce shops.

My question is what platform would you suggest to use for that knowing that I can code anything myself. Not crazy enough to do everything from scratch but I can see that there are a couple of open source e-commerce platforms that are customisable and free.

Should I just take an easiest path and go with shopify? Any regrets using that? What about fees, etc?
