Philly comes to Toronto on Saturday I think. There’s been a more negative narrative surrounding Nurses coaching since he was let go, but he is still Raptors most successful coach ever.
Whether you’re at the game, at a bar, at home, no matter the place, how do you expect to react?
Honestly, he helped lead the raps to their first championship. Following year, raps were able to be a top 2 seed due to his coaching and remain competitive, and who knows, had it not gone to the bubble maybe they’re back in the ecf or finals. His finger prints are all over how defense is played in the nba today and brought in many defensive concepts like the box and 1, and triangle and 2.
He was a great coach and I would definitely be cheering for him. If he didn’t become arrogant and full of himself, he would still be one of the best coaches in the league, but hopefully this firing was a humbling experience he could learn from.
