Like everyone else I have to give my two cents.

I wanted us to take him at 1 that 2022 draft class and when he fell to us at 5 I was ecstatic. His draft class was the first year I deep dived a draft class and he was my dude. His rookie year to me was so much fun to watch. My favorite player on my favorite team. My boy was COOKIN his rookie year too, 16ppg was way more than I expected from him and at the end of the season he was liable to go for 30 any given night.

The start of the season has been tough boys.

Monty has been challenging him but I respect him for it. He needs to play better defense, take better shots, not turn the ball over etc, if we want to play winning basketball. This is a necessary step that HE needs to take head on. Good players have ups and downs it’s about how you respond, and I’m confident in him, the pistons, and his teammates to help him through this. If at the end of this tunnel he puts these things together he’s a winning basketball player and that’s what this team needs.

Pulling for him ✌️

Basically, if Ivey is the type of player to start sulking and not improving when the coach is telling him he’s not playing good enough right now, he would never be great in the first place. If he listens to the critque and works on it, he has a chance to be great.

“The start of the season has been tough boys.”

It’s only been one game, let’s give it some time to breathe and see what happens.
