I am curious about this and might just not understand NBA offense. Multiple times Giannis has gone up, set a pretend screen a foot below where the defender is, and then rolled. It doesn’t seem like this really gets either player open. Giannis’ defender doesn’t have any need to hedge or help as Dame’s defender isn’t screened, so he is free to just stay on Giannis as he rolls. Is this the way this play is supposed to happen, or is it poor execution?
