And no, not clickbait.

I’ll explain.

I’ve been a PC gamer since the 1980’s, I’ve gamed across so many genre’s for 40 years. I’ve had quiet periods over the years to be sure, lull’s due to slow releases or because of work commitments, but it’s always been how I’d while away some spare time. And lord knows when I was younger doing late nights and early mornings and having rough days at work due to the oh-so-common “just one more turn” syndrome (I’m looking at you Civ series).

2 months ago, I finished playing Phantom Liberty; to say it was impressive is probably doing it a disservice and I’m not going to preach that particular topic in of itself.

Since then though, I’ve just not been able to get into anything else at all. I’ve been getting 10/15 minutes into other titles and quite honestly quitting with a sense of almost disgust, or at the very least an immense sense of total disengagement.

I’ve tried going back to old favourites as well as new releases since Phantom Liberty. No dice. I did a LAN session with friends last month and struggled to play along with anything.

I think CDPR have broken me. Well played CDPR. Well played.

Am I the only one?

Yeah i get that about civ, turn based games just isn’t for me, for me in terms of fps, two games that made me find it hard to play other fps is the Metro series & Rage 2, others just feels…stiff and bland personally, i guess i played a lot of metro lately and the atmosphere is just epic
