We have the 12th best defensive rating through the first 10 games of the season, and the 7th best during this current win streak.
Everyone said if we could just get to 15th, and stay in the top 5 of offense, that we’d be a legit title contender.
…it’s too early. We look good, really really good, but it’s too early.
Team has been much improved in P/R defense and has done a better job of protecting the rim with vertically. Also have made it a point to trap elite guards (Steph, Donovan) at half court to get the ball out of their hands.

They (starters) are getting to where they can turn on the defense when necessary. That’s huge. But we are a team that easily fall back to an offensive mindset…and quickly. That Laker game is an example of just how potent the offense can be. And when we did focus on defense, it broke the Fakers will to keep playing hard. Love it! That’s the key…get ahead and then step on the neck defensively in the 4th. If we can do that consistently, the regular season win total could be very impressive.
