Basically, I set up a modem/router in the main area of my apartment, but it happens to be a few rooms away from my office space. So I was hoping to improve the connection in the office by leveraging what appeared to be an RJ45 outlet in the wall, above what I assume is an RJ11 port for a landline.
Essentially, there are two ports on the wall, one above the other, but I want to confirm if it was possible that both could be RJ11 because the Ethernet cable won’t fit in either.
Also, is there anyway to confirm whether one of the ports could be converted to an Ethernet port? Could I just take the plating off the wall?
Thanks
