While I will never influence an NFL team. I have worked for many organizations, when you take additional duties vs laser focus it certainly a “thing”. That said there can be positive outcomes just as easily as there can be negative ones.
Case in point, while I can certainly armchair criticize McDermott for game play and clock management decisions . The results on defense are pretty clear. They have kept us in games no doubt.
Mike Shula was slipping into the QB coach role for the time being. He was a senior offensive assistant previously, not sure if that role will be or is backfilled.
I believe it was McDermott said that current Senior offensive assistant Mike Shula will take on the role of QB coach as Joe Brady takes the role of interim OC.
If they don’t hire or promote someone, my guess is Kyle Allen or Barkley will pick up the responsibilities of QB coach.
