Is it bad to pirate older versions of games if you can’t run the more updated version?

I’m currently stuck on a very low power laptop from about 10 years ago or more and I’m wondering if it’s wrong for me to download older versions of some of the games I like to watch people play. I understand that pirating in general is wrong as it takes money away from creators who have put a lot of effort time and money into making a game but if it is a very old version is it okay?
