I just got a new 2023 911 carrera. I’m a relatively new driver so I just went with the base carrera, but it does have the sports chrono package. One thing I’m curious about is launch control. How bad is it to do this? Given that I’m under warranty and will keep servicing and extending as necessary, how bad is it to occasionally do launch control, really? I’ve read that on BMWs, for example, launch control has a hidden limit of 50-100 launches after which LC will stop working. Does anything like this exist for Porsche?
It’s a factory feature. Go for it.
You’re absolutely correct about BMW’s LC. I have a 21 M5, and once we hit 100 launches, the car doesn’t do the split second shifting anymore. It’ll still launch, but not with the same shift patterns. My base 992 is arriving in December, and I’m going to drive it like I stole it, despite getting overcharged for it😂
That blows my mind that BMW thought that was acceptable.
