Context: Deshaun watson was dropped in our superflex keeper league. Watson was drafted with a 4th round pick. Another team picked up watson and is arguing that he should be able to keep him for a 9th round pick (our league rule is that if you keep someone you got off waivers you can keep them for your 9th round pick in next years draft). While watson did have a 4th round grade, he was technically a waiver wire add, and waiver wire adds can be kept for a 9th. There is quite a debate going on in our league about it, I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this before? Would be interested to hear how it was settled!
Wherever they were drafted
In my league we agreed on a rule where players drafted before the 7th round but dropped to waivers take on a 7th round value. Undrafted or waiver acquired players are worth a 15th round pick.
It works really well but we also allow draft pick trading and have a few other keeper rules to prevent people getting a crazy competitive advantage.
