We’ve been working on this idea for around 10 months, Fiyope, bootstrapped. It allows anyone with knowledge or skills to create step-by-step guides, whether they’re a seasoned pro or a passionate enthusiast. People can join these guides and track their own progress as well as that of others. It’s a platform for tracking the progress of your followers and those you follow.

The problem we face is essentially a chicken-and-egg situation. Without content, the platform is useless, leading to a lack of users. Conversely, without users, creators are not interested. We have not managed to attract any users yet. Since it’s bootstrapped, we don’t have the funds for content creation and marketing.

You might ask why we tried to bootstrap an idea like this. It seemed fun and potentially beneficial to society. We believed people would need a product like this in their lives.

So now, we’re at a crossroads, debating whether to continue or abandon the project. What would you do in this situation?

Why would people come to your site over Googling the same things?

I would listen to forums on Reddit where people hang out that need to have a step-by-step guide to achieve their goals.

Then I would produce a step-by-step guide myself and put it on your platform. Afterwards, I would share it with the people whom I found on Reddit.

At the end, I would write ‘if you liked my step-by-step guide, please publish one of your own, to help other people get their stuff done as well.’

To find such people who need guides, I suggest you do a quick thought experiment: Fill out these blanks to hone in on your audience:

    I want to help _________________________
    who want to ___________________________
but cannot get there because ___________________

Then use a tool like customerping.ai to find them. It takes the three sentences from above and finds new customers for you, around the clock, even while you sleep. It pings you on your phone when it finds someone who needs your help. Boom: Join the conversation and help them as I described in the beginning.

Does that sound feasible? Good luck!
