I just wish they would actually try to understand the Redstone community rather than just guessing what we want. People like Gnembon are the only ones who seem to get it at Mojang, and clearly he’s not getting enough voice in the conversation if things that aren’t broken get broken for no supported reason. Like why would we even be teased with awesome features if they weren’t intended to be implemented that way. I swear it’s like this with dang near every Redstone related feature when they first get introduced.
Pistons are 3 game ticks but can take any input from 0 and up, torches can only take 2 game tick inputs and up (possibly 1.5 ticks if some old mechanics still work), observers take any tick and turn it into 1 tick, hoppers have an 8 tick delay, droppers and dispensers have a 4 tick delay, and now crafters have either a 4 or 6 tick delay (I’ve heard both, not sure which is correct)…I’m sure that even on bedrock that droppers, hoppers, and dispensers still have ticks outside of a single Redstone tick. Please don’t cite consistency when Redstone has never been consistent, even on Bedrock (especially on Bedrock in some cases).
Can we please just get the features that we want as a community without having to make crappy posts like this one that do nothing but just add to the disappoint in the community as a whole? Seriously everyone in the Redstone community was so hyped about this update, and this just felt like a gut punch that we are going to have to beg and plead to not be hit with another one saying that the changes are permanent. I would trade away the copper grate never getting water loggability every day, and so would all other Redstoners, if that’s what it took to revert these changes. The crappy thing is that even taking away that would freaking suck, because it’s the only sealed waterloggable block that can be moved with pistons (currently the water gets destroyed though unfortunately).
