If the rules applied to everyone, City would be relegated to League 2 in 1984

So saying refs are shit is ‘bringing the game into disrepute’, but handing a club a points reduction while leaving another club alone for the same rule breaches doesn’t bring the game into disrepute?

They’re not being punished because you spend too much. They’re punished because they did not spend enough.

I think they’ve actually gotten away with it.

The standard at the bottom is so low and Everton are actually a decent team this year they should e fine.

Lucky it happened when they’ve got Dyche for a full 38 games and not Lampard

Smart move from Everton if they knew the deduction was inevitable, they’ll survive this year because they’re just below Luton and Sheffield who are pretty terrible.

Everton will probably finish above the three promoted sides regardless of the points deducted and they know that. Smart play to take it this year and not attempt to drag it out another season.

Having said all that I do agree that this is a harsh punishment for a team that has worked with the PL to resolve this while other teams drag out legal cases and avoid punishment.
