Is there a reason they didn’t just kill them all though? I mean he was their “champion” and messed him good. Why not just destroy the whole station?

I think its fascinating the way the show interacts with the comic. As far as i know the shows being written by the comics author but with “hindsight 20/20 vision” so its just different enough that when you see something and think you know whats going on something new happens instead.
