2008-11: Zac got a job from his father-in-law Mike Sherman at Texas A&M as a GA 2012-15: Zac Taylor is named QB coach on the dolphins. Dolphins miss the playoffs all 4 seasons while he’s in Miami. Last 5 games in 2015, Zac serves as interim OC. Dolphins went 2-3 averaging 17 points a game. 2016: Named OC at the University of Cincinnati under Tommy Tuberville. UC went 4-8 (1-7 conference, last in the American), Averaged 19.3 pts/game (123 of 128 in FBS) 2017-2018: Named Rams QB coach under under HC Sean McVay and Matt Lefleur. Rams ranked as one of the top offenses in NFL. Jared Goff throws 60 yds to 19 int in that time. 2019: Named head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. Goes 6-25-1 first two years as a head coach. Next 2 seasons, you guys know AFC title in '21 and return to the AFC title game in '22. Bringing his overall head coaching record to 33-40-1 (.453).

Zac Taylor isn’t the worst head coach ever. But I see him as very mediocre to below average. He has had very little success as an head coach or OC level without Burrow and Jamar. Every NFL team has injuries. However the best coaches like Mike Tomlin, Kyle Shanahan, John Harbaugh, and Pete Carroll still can compete despite injuries or who is playing QB for them. Zac Taylor has yet to make adjustments that allow us to compete without Joey B (and sometimes even with him). Also the team has never had a strong start to the season under Zac Taylor. I believe that is due to a sub par off season program. Whether or not the starters play in preseason games, it is obvious the last 4 seasons we are not as prepared as other teams the first 4-5 weeks. His time management and playbook leave a lot to be desired, he’s no offensive savant like Shanahan. I know he went to a super bowl and ownership won’t likely fire him this season. But Lovie Smith went to a super Bowl and Marvin Lewis had a higher win pct (.518) as a HC. Is Zac Taylor really the guy?

Zac has been bailed out by Joe the past two seasons. If Joe isn’t healthy we do not do well. This season has been a prime example. Zac was apart of the “hot seat” talk heading into 2021. Then Joe Burrow did Joe Burrow things.

I’ve had this stance for a long time. I don’t think Zac is the guy. Joe is the heart and soul of the franchise. But we need a coach that can put Joe in a position where he can thrive and not be forced to improvise 90% of the time. I know no one wants to hear it but this staff isn’t it.

I’d much rather have guys like Ben Johnson or Frank Smith at HC.

Hell… let’s throw the bag at Harbaugh. (I know that will never happen)

I just like to see a coach that can implement a good culture and take command of this team. That isn’t Zac’s forte
