Honestly, they’re older games, but the first ones that come to mind are Pikmin 2 and Metroid Prime. I think for Pikmin 2, a big reason was always the water. I love the way the water looks in that game, actually Super Mario Sunshine also had GREAT looking water and I always loved its look as well. All the models for the treasures and the top tier monster designs really gave it a specific Vibe. Obviously the detail could be more extreme but yeah. Metroid Prime was really good at having this strong world design, I was honestly always partial to the rainy starting area as it got across that sense of nature well and I played it when I was younger so the rain falling on the visor was like the coolest shit ever at the time. The remaster has really done it justice and TBH is one of the best looking games out now.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake always looked really good to me, although I dunno if I’d say “most beautiful”. Okami and Wind Waker are some games with such clear style that they feel up there for me, the kind of games that still look as great today honestly. Cuphead feels like a modern version of that, just must have been SO hard to get done.

I feel like there’s so many more I could add on, so maybe I’ll edit more in later. SMB3, that’s another one I enjoy the look of and feels like a top tier NES game visually, dunno if I’d call it “most beautiful” but I prefer it to SMW for example.

I’ve spent way too much time in Photo mode for both Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West.

I fell in love with the soundtrack from Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Graphics were very good for the time as well. Still one of my all time favorite games ever. Definitely a masterpiece.

Very overlooked but Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was beautiful graphically, with a really unique story and some interesting mechanics.
