I used to use have my turntables sitting on a cube bookshelf like this, and the lighting just sitting on random smaller pieces of furniture like a stool or small end table - it worked but not well, both functionally and aesthetically. I’ve just bought this media console and moved my Luxman to my bedroom to use for headphones, and I’m really liking it!

Preamp and CD player tuck nicely into the center slot and hides away all the cables. Next audio goal is to get a higher mass tonearm with swappable headshell for my Thorens so I can accomodate lower compliance cartridges like an SPU or DL103.

Nice to see KEF 105.2s on the sub. I have a pair of KEF 105.1s that I’ve had for a long time.

Have you recapped yours? Each speaker has 2 crossovers which likely need to be recapped. It’s eye opening to hear how different sounds after they’ve been recapped.

Contrary to what most reviewers say, these do not sound “polite” or rolled off when the crossovers are running within spec. Falcon Acoustics have matched kits for under $100, and it’s about 2 hours off your time. Very well worth it.

Heya, thanks for your comment! I have not yet but I do rotate the woofer once a year to avoid sag. I’ll look into recapping it but it sounds pretty good still for now…No roll off to my ears! I’ll keep your suggestion in mind but have too many projects on my plate at the moment 🤣
