Last night I tried updating to 3.5.5 it kept getting stuck on the apply. Gave up and left it. Then decided this morning I would try with the dock I have that has ethernet to do the update. Update went through and rebooted. Micro SD card wasn’t recognized. Did a restart and it recognized it. I then thought I haven’t tried my deck with my Hyper Drive dock on my TV. Plugged it and it was displaying. Looked away and looked back and noticed the Steam Deck had shut off. Turn the Steam Deck back on on and the memory card isn’t reading again. Do a restart and the memory card is working fine. Then I decide to try again with the dock on my TV. Plug it in and the Steam Deck once again shuts off, except this time my Steam Deck won’t turn on. Battery was at 45%. I tried turning it on and my Deck won’t respond. Plugged it in with the original Deck charger and I pressed the power button again. The power light blinked on again for a second, but nothing else. Anyone have any idea what happened? I really hope I didn’t do something that killed my deck. Ive got it plugged in right now with charger and have left it.

Mine went sideways on me two nights ago because I was installing Bioshock 1. I wound up having to hold down the power button for about ten seconds to force it to shut off. (Just because the screen is off doesn’t mean it’s not running.) After that, I was able to single press the power button for I think about three seconds and it came back on.

When you do get yours to come back on, I would set up a SteamOS recovery image and flash that thing back to factory and start over without a card in the slot. Once you get logged in, updated, and make sure it’s working OK, then put the card back in and see about getting that thing mounted and operational. It might not be a bad idea to format it too and start over.
