so as we all know, everybody but mercy mains know how brain dead the hero is and how little effort is required to get insane value.
on the flip side, doom takes immense skill and is incredibly hard to get value out of especially if you are solo que.
so why does blizzard keep nerfing doom but simply won’t do anything about mercy, who has been a top 5 hero since launch ?
I play Doom way more than Mercy but let’s be honest Doom is just annoying to fight compared to Mercy. Sure, Mercy denies a ton of your kills, but a good Doom literally won’t let you play the game.
Now, I’m a pretty shit Doom and feed half the time but I’m still gonna play him because he’s fun, and those 10% of matches where I utterly dominate are enough reason for me to keep playing him. Blizzard knows Doom mains are too loyal to give up on their hero no matter how much they nerf him, so they keep doing so to cater to the majority that hates playing against him. Remember, only through nerfs do we evolve into better players. We’ll learn to play around our counters, master every movement tech, somehow get kills with doom ult and then Blizzard will notice his high win rate and reward us with more nerfs. It’s just how it is.
