I wonder if the Bucs when it comes time for the Draft, should they go quarterback in terms of their 1st round pick? Or go defense? Because it makes you wonder if this organization really believes in Baker Mayfield to be the long term solution at QB? I mean how do you follow up the GOAT in Brady? You can’t but you also need a quarterback for the future that will make this team still competitive. But then if you go defense, then it actually helps Baker going forward because of protection giving him more time in the pocket to throw it or to use his legs. So what do you think the Bucs should do?

Offensive line. Baker takes the brunt of the media for losses but this roster went 8-9 with Brady.

Losing Jensen was the first domino.

Marpet is missed badly too but our center now gets a clean ball to baker like 50% of the time. Why is he so bad at hiking?

    Honestly it’s a tricky question.

If we can’t re-sign Baker then…I vote for “best player available” and just go from there. If Baker doesn’t re-sign we should just rebuild on the go and slowly start something called “project 2030”, or whatever, where we’d start to build a team that should compete for the playoffs somewhere around 2028 or so, and by 2030 we should try becoming a serious competitor.

There are not too many affordable QBs that are decent, so if we can’t re-sign Mayfield just roll with Trask and just play with a bunch of rookies+veterans, trying to slowly create a team of people playing their peak in a couple of years (I just know Kalijah will be a beast after a couple of years)

I really think the Bucs have their QB for at least 2 years… a combo of him being obviously competent and talented AND the fact that were paying him peanuts cause the guy has had a wild career and just wants to play. What I see too much is this sub thinks that a QB can be talented without a talented system. Can I just remind everyone of Mathew Stafford’s career? Baker needs a year in a system that drafts around being a solid organization besides the QB. I mean you think Brock Purdy is super super talented? Nope. He is on the 49rs and that is a very very good org. I know that if we Give Baker a year then he will take up to at least an nfc championship game.

All the baker haters in this sub will say that hes trash but those people just don’t know football.
