I know a lot of us like the DC we have but if the last 2 weeks without Grady are pretty concerning. I think Rex could send the defense to the next level and is a players coach. Get a solid OC, let Rex get his qb to go with an already stout young offense and suddenly the team can make serious noise next year. Again probably not a popular opinion but I wanted him when we got Quinn. This team needs an identity and Rex has that in spades.
It’s just the season. Half the league is borked due to not investing in a real back-up QB and/or poor coaching. The armchair GMs just regurgitate names of washed former NFL people they know. Unless they are annoying college football fans, then it’s always some player or coach we MUST draft/hire next season.
I am resigned to the fact that we are riding out the season with Smith and Ridder. Our division is bad enough that we could still get to a playoff game.
