I am trying to search on the Windows app. I have notes that have my search term (converted from handwriting to text) and I have tags with that same term. If I search for that same term I get no results.
What am I doing wrong?

Search will find text in titles. Period.
As far as I can tell, search will not find any of these:
* text from conversions
* text you type into notebooks (!)
* tags (!)
* contents of pdfs
* contents of ebooks
Only titles.
If you’re IN a notebook, you can search for text from conversions or typing. But you can’t FIND that notebook based on what’s in it.
