Is it fair/common for a manager that’s eliminated to trade their best players for better keepers or better picks next year?

    Background:

One team in my league had a rough year (eliminated) and is trying to trade their best players to get better keepers and picks next year.

It’s known Lamar and Kelce are on the block.

At this point the strategy is known and all managers are putting in their best offers before the trade deadline in 24 hours. What should be done? Should the commissioner veto and lock this team?

One manager in the league is losing their mind about it but it seems within the rules
