What’s the point of the Coalition of planets? Why would anyone join? They don’t seem to have anything that can even slightly resist the Viltrumites.

What’s the motivation for the Viltrumites conquering the galaxy? They don’t seem to have anything to gain or any point. Extermination I could understand but what do they get from being in charge of all these worlds aside from a bunch of beaucracy?
