His name keeps coming up, and while I would love to have him back, it’s not going to happen. Here is why.

Commanders have a new owner. That means the GM and HC likely lose their job, unless they really impress.

Commanders brought in Jacoby as a vet presence in the QB room and to help develop Sam Howell. Similar to how we made Case Keenum the highest paid backup to help develop Baker, and didn’t use him when Baker was hurt.

Playoffs are not out of the possibility for the Commies. Right now.

Sam is one of/ the most sacked QBs in the league. Jake Fromm is the other backup…. There is a good chance Jacoby will be needed.

A GM/HC in the hot seat won’t care about future picks. Even if we are willing to overpay.

If they trade away Jacoby and end up having to use Jake Fromm as a starter, especially with playoff hopes, they won’t get jobs again.

This is even worse than the Browns trading Dobbs, because its highly doubtful Sam Howell will play all 17 games the way he is getting hit.

The only offer I could see AB making with the Commies GM is “make this deal and I promise to find you a role on our staff when you get fired” (pretty sure this is collusion anyways).

Jacoby would be a dream, but can we all stop pretending we are smarter than AB, and thank/pray to the football gods?
