Hi, I’m looking at procuring either an Omega Sapphire Sandwich or one with the Hesalite covering. My question pertains to space flight. I’m planning on taking a trip to space with Blue Origin and wondering is the Sapphire version allowed up there? I know that hesalite doesn’t shatter like sapphire, which is why it’s NASA certified. However, I just love the caseback on the sapphire sandwich and the ability to watch the movement of the engine. Which would you recommend?
I would do what I did and get a hesalite and then swap out the closed caseback for a sapphire exhibition one from Spiralwinderwatchparts.com
That’s a genius idea, thanks!
For actual going up in space, Hesalite.
For earthbound me, sapphire.
For someone rich enough for private space flight, both.
I chose the hesalite
