I made a post a while back but it didn’t get too much traction so I’m giving it one more go.
My wife surprised me with tickets to our first dolphins game for December 17th. I’m a lifelong fan who originally grew up in the Tampa Bay area but now lives in Denver and I’ve never been to a game. I’ve only ever been to Miami a few times as a kid so I couldn’t tell you much about it.
We know it’s December but since we live in landlocked Colorado, we still want to stay by the beach. We are really just looking for ideas of where to stay. We are in our early 30s but we are not into the party scene anymore So I don’t think we have much interest in South Beach. We will be in the area for 4 days.
We just want to be near a decent looking beach with a little bit of walkability to some bars and restaurants and somewhat easier access to the stadium. We were looking at Hollywood Beach but I can’t find much info about how it compares to the Miami area. Does this sound like a good option for us? Also looking for recs on Cuban food and somewhere to get a properly made mojito…Even in Tampa I could get some good Cuban food in the ybor area but in Colorado? Haha, yeah right.
Also, we will have a rental car but we both want to tailgate because we’ve never got to do it before. Public transportation looks like a hassle. How awful is an Uber? If we were to drive, does it make sense for us to pay the premium to park in an orange lot or should we park in a satellite lot and walk over to an orange lot and try and find people to party with?
Thanks guys, and FTJs!
