I just saw the rankings for MVP so far this season and it made me realize something. Ideally Giannis doesn’t have to carry the team anymore and can let Dame handle the ball most the time from here on out. Doesn’t seem like Giannis will have much case for MVP anymore. Hopefully he feels the same way I do that all we want is to win a championship as a team.

I want him to win FMVP.
It’s too much of a media award and there’s a lot of fresh talent in the NBA other than Giannis. Unless Giannis puts up insane numbers or we have a runaway regular season, I don’t see it happening and even then it’s hard. Giannis should have won it last season or the year after he won a chip because he proved he’s the guy. First seed and insane stats but they insisted on either giving to Jokic as a 6th seed (bruh…) or Embiid because he never won before. I think it’s Luka’s turn now.
0 percent. If he didn’t win it last year he will never win again. Any other player who had good season last year wins unanimously.
Id rather see Giannis focus on and push for another DPOY than a MVP ngl. He’s averaging the lowest rebounds he has in years, and as much as I hate to admit it, his defense is not what it was in 2019. If he can trust Dame to fully run the offense most nights, then hopefully he can lock back in on the other side, get back to DPOY level, and raise those rebounding numbers back to the 12+ range.
Gianni’s defense has looked amazing this season imo. I think it was clear he kinda took it slow on that end for a few years and I think he did last year because of Brook getting media attention.
But he looked more locked in this year than he has in awhile.
Also 2019 is crazy when he won in 2020 and looked the best he every has defensively in the finals in 2021
Luka or Tatum haven’t won it yet so if they have a decent year they will win it
The other players can have the regular season awards. Giannis is going for that FMVP.
