This is NOT a DJ vs anyone thread, but practically speaking, would you rather have someone like Mayfield and also $36M to spend on the o line (and elsewhere), or is it better to have a higher tier QB?

There are a lot of “we love Saquon, but maybe $10M doesn’t get us what a lesser RB + $7-$8M would get us.” But, I’m curious if people feel that way about the QB position as well.

Jones did not live up to his contract (performance and now injury). To be fair it’s prob a middle of the road QB contract now but he isn’t even close to middle.of the road.

I take a baker style QB and 35M in a heartbeat to shore up other positions and take another shot at a drafted QB

Look up. Duane Heydt. A key to a good o line is getting away with holding and false starts. It’s not complicated. Your GM and Owner should be spending every second building a good relationship with Goodell. That’s more important than anything to do with allocating money, especially because with void years you can essentially pay on credit forever.

Big dawg enough with the DJ skepticism

He’s owed less than 100 mill guaranteed over 4 years, which is objectively cheap for a starting QB in this league
