There is so many ways they can make the team better, from trading for OL depth, a better safety than Nick Scott or get an actual TE.

Though as the Ravens probably trading for Derrick Henry, the Eagles getting a probowl safety, and even the chiefs getting back the players they lost; It seems the FO will sit on their hands, act like having a late pick makes all the difference. Then be surprised when a certain position continues to underperform as we fail to make a run in the playoffs.

I’m just not sure who we could get with a late round pick that would make an actual impact.

One thing that crossed my mind was a 7th for Robert Tonyan. He’s wasting away on a bad Chicago team that continues to play Kmet because they paid him. He was trusted by Rodgers, and I think he could play well for us too. Then I looked up his contract and the idea falls apart. He’s only on a one year deal, and I doubt our FO is using any picks on a complete rental, nor do I think they’d extend him since next year he’s 30.

Those are the kinds of deals we’re looking at with a late round pick though. I’d rather them try to hit on a late pick come the draft.

Literally the only position that is maybe worth trading for right now is TE, I don’t know how many good TEs you are going to get for a 6th/7th. OL is at a premium in the NFL so you definitely aren’t getting that. Jordan Battle is likely going to replace Scott soon and I doubt you get a Safety for a 6th or 7th. You maybe get Carl Lawson back from the Jets to add to pass rush if nobody else offers but even that I doubt.

Super unpopular opinion but our TE depth is fine. Joe can make anyone look like a good TE. The real problem is our entire offense has been struggling, not just the TE spot
