Do any of you ever get stopped by strangers to talk shit about your jersey? Note: I do live in the south.

If this happens to you, does it seem to be one fanbase or another? Is it a regional thing? I live in the south but I travel between a few states, all of which have a pro football team, and still the only times I’m ever stopped by a stranger to talk shit is always a Cowboys fan. Never in my life have I been stopped for any negative comments about any pro sports team in any state other than Cowboys fans on my Pats gear. And I’m not talking about banter here–I do know the difference between banter and douchiness. Banter kinda comes with the territory of being a fan of just about anything.

Most recent example: I went to the Cowboys/Pats game in Texas a few weeks ago and, yes, Pats took an ass beating. Sure. But after the game it was incredible how much shit was talked to me by random ass strangers. A couple of girls were legit trying to bully me after the game. Asked me something about, with a crazy aggressive tone, how it felt to be wearing that jersey right now. I told her it probably felt about six rings heavier than her jersey has for the last thirty years or so. Shots fired. She was not expecting a smartass retort from a small woman who looked like an easy target (I guess?). And this was at the end of the game–there were others who were less aggressive but still shitty before and during the game, and then afterwards at the bar next door, you wouldn’t believe the shit people were saying to me. After WEEK 4’s game. Week fucking four. If Dallas makes it beyond week two of the playoffs, I might take them a molecule more seriously, but for now, I’m just baffled at how anyone, much this many people, think it’s okay to stop a stranger and talk so much shit. I do know that Cowboys/Eagles have a super contentious and often violent rivalry, but Dallas/NE have no such established rivalry. We even have some common “enemies” (coughGIANTScough).

What experiences have you had with this, if any? Curious if there’s some sort of douche-magnet in Dallas or if it’s really just regional and every state has their twat waffle club? What the actual fuck?
