Yo. Donte has been bad defensively this year. Full stop. They blow right by. He honestly didn’t shoot well until the last two games. The two games he played well were against the wizards and hornets and he was not good defensively against the wizards. I made the comment the shooting will go up but people continuing to say he can replace grimes or iq have the basketball iq of a squirrel.

I need to see how he plays when we’re against actual competitive teams before I make that call

Grimes only has 12 games over 20 points, two of which were over 30. I wish he did take more shots because he hasn’t been bad other than getting his shit stuffed the other day.

He’s not willing to take more shots or being told not to. I think he defers to Randle and RJ too much, him with quick on the bench unit may help him take more looks

If they can go on a run while Grimes is out, then that will become a possibility. Grimes still can’t find offensive consistency which we need at the 2 badly if DDV can provide that then Thibs has to start him. And hopefully Grimes can benefit from the freedom of the second unit.

Let’s see how he does against a team that is better like Minnesota. Charlotte and DC are bum teams
