OREB 1

Bron and AD try to contest DA’s rebound, but he is abel to tip it to Camara, who was Bron’s assignment. Not really a Laker problem, DA just jumped higher. Ig Bron could have boxed out Camara instead of try to get the rebound himself.

OREB 2

The ball is in Bron’s hand for a second, but is tipped by Camara into the hands of Mays. More of a steal than an OREB really.

OREB 3

This one was the first egregious one. Dlo and Prince don’t communicate who is switching onto Grant, so AD is forced to cover him in the corner, and DA was wide open for the putback under the basket. This is on Dlo, Prince, and AD for not communicating who is covering Grant.

OREB 4

Long rebound that hits AR’s hand but goes to Thybulle. Unlucky.

OREB 5

Sharpe simply outhustled AD down the floor and grabs the rebound.

OREB 6

Long reboound that just barely slips out of Prince’s hands. Unlucky

OREB 7

Murray outhustled Bron to the ball.

OREB 8

Long rebound that Hayes might have been fouled on, but he doesnt contorl the ball.

OREB 9

Horribel positioning by AD allowing for DA to get the putback.

OREB 10

Bron struggles to control the rebound, but AD pokes it away so Lakers actually end up with possessioin here.

OREB 11

Grant beats Prince off the dribble, engaging AD to contest the shot. He misses, but since AD contested, DA was open for the putback. This is a lineup and scheme issue.

OREB 12

Bron doesn’t box out his man, who cuts behind him and outhustled AD for the backtap into OREB.

OREB 13

Ball just slips out of Prince’s hand. Touched by Grant?

OREB 14

Long rebound just goes to Ayton. Unlucky.

OREB 15: not available on the NBA site lol

OREB 16

Reaves Reddish and Bron start this possession off guarding two players due to miscommunication. Rui tries to close out to the shooter, then double back but its too late and his man has inside positioning and gets the rebound.

OREB 17

Effort issue. AD just allowed DA to yam on him. He missed tho lol.

OREB 18

Rui misses his box out, and his man comes away with the rebound.

TLDR:

A lot of effort issues especially on Bron and AD’s part. Not gonna shit on Bron considering how well he played this game, and how we know he’ll step up his effort level in the playoffs.

A few scheme issues such as 3,11,16.

A couple of these are just unlucky long rebounds.

Some of it is the Lakers aren’t controlling the ball as they come down with it. Prince had two of these, Bron had a couple, Hayes had one too.

At first, I wanted to credit the OREB to Ham running small lineups, but in this game specifically it seems to be a mix of long rebounds and lack of hustle.

After last night’s game, Trevor Lane called Lebron out for not boxing out and Laker fans were upset but Trevor was speaking facts.
