I love Beane and McDermott. I think, for the most part, they good at what they do.
With that said, the desire and all-out love for wanting to be like when they had Olsen and Shockey and mostly a 12 Personel offense like 10+ years ago needs to stop.
Last night reminded me of the 2020/2021 Bills where they had at least 3 WRs and let Allen do what he loves.
I never understood the Kincaid pick because of paying Knox a sizeable contract. But the out for Knox’s contract is in this coming off-season (thanks for the reminder Bruce Exclusive) and Kincaid is the man.
I hope we go get a legit #2 in a trade within the next few days (wishful thinking of course) and let this offense be amazing again.
Thank you all for coming to my Ted Talk.
It’s a single game against an inter-conference opponent. It’s nice to win and the offense looked good with the crew they had, but I wouldn’t make any fundamental philosophical changes based on that. Remember the 12 personnel formations that are being spurned so much right now helped us obliterate Vegas/Washington/Miami and had people saying there’s no point in bringing back 11 personnel.
Truth is both have their strengths and depending on the defensive matchup one might be better than the other. Having the flexibility to run the offense either way is really great. But with Knox on IR we’ll get to see heavy doses of 11 personnel for the next several weeks.
