Hey fellow entrepreneurs,I’ve been grappling with a major roadblock in my journey to becoming an online coach, and I’d greatly appreciate your insights and advice. Here’s the deal:
I’ve known for many years that my purpose in this life is to help others. It’s the number one thing that fulfills me in life, and I would love to make a career out of it so that I can spend most of my time doing just that.
However, I’ve been procrastinating on it for a while, because of the personal branding side of it. For several reasons:
- Simply put: I don’t like social media. I only use it for inspiration, but I keep all of my accounts private and don’t like spending a lot of time on it. I’m quite a private person, and the thought of becoming a recognizable figure online doesn’t sit well with me. I love my anonymity and couldn’t imagine anything worse than to become “famous” or have a huge amount of people follow me and my life. But I understand that visibility is essential for a coaching business. How can I balance this need for privacy with the necessity of having an online presence?
- My mind & life can be a bit of a whirlwind (thanks to my raging ADHD), and the idea of consistently posting content online is daunting. I’m worried that I won’t be able to keep up with the demands of content creation. Do any of you have strategies for managing the chaos and maintaining a regular online presence? And how important is it to post consistently?
- I’m concerned that, if my face is the brand, I’d basically have to remain the face of it forever and wouldn’t be able to delegate it like I could with “faceless” businesses. Is there a way to create a successful coaching business without it being so closely tied to my personal brand
Any advice on how to tackle these concerns and navigate the path to becoming a successful online coach would be immensely appreciated!
So, don’t build one. Easy.
