hello everyone, last night my grandfather passed away very suddenly. he didn’t write down passwords to things like online banking accounts, car and home payment websites, etc. but our biggest worry is getting is phone unlocked because we believe a lot of these passwords are saved there.

I don’t know the specific type he had, it was some kind of Android or Samsung smartphone that used one of the combinations where you “connect the dots” and the pattern is what unlocks the phone. it appeared to also have a finger print way to unlock the phone, but we attempted to unlock his phone with both of his thumbs and index fingers and it unfortunately didn’t work. my grandmother thinks she knows what the unlock pattern is, but of course when you incorrectly attempt to unlock the phone so many times it locks you out for a certain amount of time and my fear is that so many attempts may reset the phone.

any tips are greatly appreciated, I just want to help my grandmother not worry about this and to also be able to get his photos off his phone too.
