Hi all,
I recently inherited an iPhone XR from my in-laws. They used it from the release of the device for 6 months then got something else. During this time, the phone has been switched off in a cupboard not being used.
How much life do you think I can get from this device now I have fully updated it?

It’s at the oldest on the list for iOS 17, so probably not iOS 18 but likely still another 2-3 years of security updates. As far as the battery, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging. That will tell you the current max charging capacity.
