Replaying Darksiders 2 and a lot of these fetch quests feel like they could easily have been resolved by sending a quick text or email.

Old man in Sonic Chronicles tells you his grandson Timmy got stuck in a well. Go to the well, find out Timothy is a grown man. His job is to rescue animals that fall in the well. Bring him to his grandpa, and he explains the situation. Grandpa still treats him like a kid.
