What would you expect to pay for a head gasket repair? Is it even worth it?

I have a 2009 Lexus RX350, 3.5 L V6 engine. I was quoted 7500$ for a head gasket repair from a private mechanic that I’ve been going to for years. He said that was just for the head gasket repair, not if there is other issues. This is our only vehicle and we know that amount is definitely not worth it when we have 180k miles already on it and maintenance things we need to do.

When I look it up this seems way above average price for my car, should I try to get a few different quotes elsewhere? Or is 7500$ the norm nowadays? We were going to attempt to do it ourselves but with it being our only car it doesn’t seem reasonable right now. We’ve had this car for 4 years with no issues until now and we were hoping if we fix this and do maintenance stuff (timing belt, fluid changes, etc) we could possibly make it last until 300k miles? We’ve been trying to weigh out the pros & cons but we’re definitely not in a place to buy a reliable car right now lol.
