Well, after bragging how solid this car is … it looks like it’s due for at the very least a major repair, and at the worst, a trip to the junkyard. I have a 2005 Porsche Cayenne S with 169k miles (bought last year with 157k) that we use as our “spare car,” but it’s actually one of my favorites. The other day, when I started the car, it would idle for a bit then shut off. After it did that a few times, I got it up to temp, and it drove fine for the rest of the day. The next day, it drove without issue. Today, it started acting up again but I figured it would be fine after getting to temp, so I drove it on the highway - big mistake. Every 10 seconds or so, the steering wheel would lock and the car would shut off. I luckily moved it into a safe area, and got it towed home, as the mechanics I use don’t have any availability for two weeks.
Is it likely that the car will need to be junked ?
