All through training camp and preseason we heard how Forbes is competing with Terry and has made plays against him.
Once the regular season hit, Forbes is looking like he’s a JAG. He’s made an occasional play but not often than not you see him getting roasted. And in all honesty you can apply this to almost every first round pick we’ve made in a long time.
Do reporters just ignore the bad plays in TC/preseason? Do the coaches call plays to make them look good? Are they just practice all pros?
If a pick sucks, I just want to hear about it in preseason so I don’t get my hopes up. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve heard that “[insert first round pick] got smoked all day today. He’s really showing his flaws” over the past 15-20 years.
