I’m thinking of buying a remarkable, but - like many tech products - the “optional” (not really optional) accessories are ridiculously priced. It’s insulting to the consumer - pure price-gouging for things they know you will need.

The stylus is 12g of plastic - priced at €129. (over €1 per gram. For comparison Silver is about €0.70 per gram) The book folio is €100 - I’m guessing it’s made for about €2-€3 in a factory in China.

These are marketed as “optional” but nobody is buying one with nothing to write on it, and you won’t throw it in a bag without some protection.

So, here’s my question - what are the most affordable Generic accessories that work well with Remarkable 2? Can I just buy the base unit and get a generic plastic stylus, and a simple cover for much less than the branded versions? Will these work?

And if there aren’t cheaper versions, are there better versions?

Any recommendations?

I understand as I have the original items because I’m an individual that like the specific branded items, however I’m a bargain shopper too. I got the Type Folio during the discount but I have every case and both type folio by purchasing/biding on either E-Bay, Mercari and Poshmark for fraction of the cost. Ive been able to get all my family members remarkable 2, just have to be savvy, set up your notifications and learn the systems, look at the pictures real good, read the descriptions. People have sold including me, the whole remarkable, type folio and marker plus for $375. Also, I agree there are other pen options that people say are really good. I have the Lamy but I enjoy writing with the marker plus. I think they all are pretty expensive even the Supernote accessories.
