Is he a bust, is he good? Does he need replacing? What’s your opinion?
It all really depends how the draft falls. If you have valid short to long term concerns at QB and there’s a real talent available to take it almost always makes sense to roll the dice, simply because QB is so damned important in this league. I’d have no qualms with the Packers taking a QB in the first or second if there’s a guy there, even if they broadly want to keep with Love and hope he succeeds. Remember packers also took Brohm in the 2nd first year Rodgers was the starter.
Now if there isn’t a guy there, and whoever is available the packers have a worse grade or don’t see upside beyond Loves, well then probably doesn’t make sense and they probably won’t take him. But that doesn’t mean it’s a philosophical departure of the original point of taking good QB prospects when they are available.
Love isn’t the problem. Poor blocking from the OL and inconsistent receiver play and Joe Barry are the big 3. The recievers showed up today.
Until he proves otherwise, he’s a serviceable QB. Not a bust nor a superstar. If he learns to play within himself, we’ll be just fine.
Yes
He is getting better, there are still holes. If he gets better each week that’s huge. He really needs to work on his deep ball accuracy.
I just want to say as a Charger fan, don’t put too much stock into your QB throwing to wide open receivers against our piss poor defense. Our bumbling fool of a head coach constantly has them lined up 10 yards off the receiver on 3rd down…I’m sure you saw it all day.
him and our DC Joe Barry must be best friends. you should’ve seen this sub the last few years on a weekly basis.
Barry was hired specifically because he learned this passive style of D with Staley
Same opinion I’ve had since September, he’s going to get another contract and will keep improving alongside his young offense. I can’t say what the ceiling is but he’s not a bum by any means.
