I’ve come to the conclusion that Gabriel is our best defender in the box. Looking at the goals we have conceded this season, it is either an outright error, or White and/or Saliba getting lost in the box.

I think there are two ways to determine the best player in our team. Absolutely, where we simply compare the players against each other regardless of position; and relatively, where we compare the players to the best in the world in their respective positions.

In the first method, the case for Saka and Jesus is undeniable. In the second, I would argue that Rice is much closer to Rodri than Saka is to Salah, or Odegaard to KdB, or Jesus to the best strikers in the world.
